Abu Dabbab Bay
The most reliable place on the Marsa Alam coast to snorkel with sea turtles and dugongs — a sandy bay with seagrass meadows, entered straight from the beach.
Good for
- Swim with dugongs
- Green turtles all year
- Shore entry — no boat needed
- Best in the morning
Why Abu Dabbab
Abu Dabbab is a shallow, sheltered bay about 30 km north of Marsa Alam town. The seagrass meadows just off the beach are the feeding ground of resident dugongs and green turtles, which makes it the most consistent turtle and dugong spot on the coast.
How it works
You walk in from the beach — no jetty, no boat. Fins help over the seagrass, and guides are available on site. Mornings are usually calmest, with the clearest water before the wind picks up.
What we organise
We arrange the transfer from your hotel, the entrance and a guide who knows where the dugongs feed.
